Valley Sierra Small Business Development Center (SBDC) will be hosting the Business Women’s Symposium (BWS) in Modesto. This is the seventh event of the series, and after two years of COVID restrictions, BWS will finally be in-person. Join in to experience a uniquely fun and impactful program infused with connectivity, inspiration, learning, and more. It is described as a “real gift” for the women of Stanislaus County.

The keynote speaker will be Mayor of Modesto, Sue Zwahlen. She was elected during quarantine; learn how she made a huge impact despite trials and adversity.

Mayor Zwahlen will be joined by speaker Christine Schweininger, Executive Director at Valley Builders Exchange. Schweininger is heavily involved in the local area through volunteering, experience, and relationships. Hear her tips and tricks for being a successful woman in the business world.

The event will be led by Emmy award winner, Jessica Chang Irish.

In Stanislaus County, women make up over 50.4 percent of the county’s population according to the 2021 US Census. Many companies are managed, owned, and operated by women proudly serving their communities with a diverse array of services and products. This event will give these women the tools to take action and make a presence in their organizations as female leaders. Scheduled at Greens on Tenth, in Modesto on Friday, May 6 from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m., women will bind together to overcome obstacles and celebrate successes. Sign up at bit.ly/7THBWS.
