Farmers Insurance Agent Monica Perez may have only been at her office on Patterson Road for a year this August, but she has been a resident and active community member for over 10 years. Her husband’s family has been here for over 30 years and her children attend schools in the Riverbank Unified School District. With the community in mind, Perez has added some new services that she is excited about. Not only is Perez a notary but she has just gone through the process to be able to offer auto registration services, title changes, license plate replacement, and trailer stickers and plates.

After the Riverbank Chamber of Commerce hosted a ribbon cutting event last year at her new Farmers Insurance Agency, Perez decided to become a Riverbank Chamber Ambassador even though the Riverbank Chamber still seems to be under construction. The location has been good for her with some walk-ins and a well-traveled road providing high visibility.

“It has been pretty good,” said Perez. “I try to be involved in anything that I can get into, whether donating waters, setting up an informational booth, the craft booth and my kids go to schools here locally so I support the schools locally and supporting the community in general.”

As a football mom she also tries to stay involved with the Riverbank High School football team.

She explained that the new DMV services offered at her location can be utilized by anyone; you do not have to be a Farmers Insurance client so everyone is welcome to take advantage of the services. If there is a problem, the system will let her know so there may be certain instances that people may have to go to DMV anyway. Perez explained that since she has started offering these services for the past few months that she has only had one person in this situation. Although you don’t need an appointment Perez recommends making one to make sure she has the availability which prevents people from having to wait.

“I am actually excited,” added Perez. “My office is full service so I am able to offer insurance, of course, but I am also a notary and I recently added the auto registration services. So people are able to do title changes here. They are able to pick up their tags if they are renewing their registrations, they don’t have to wait for it to come in the mail and they are able to walk out with the tags.”

Also if someone lost a license plate or if they have had their license plate stolen they are able to get a replacement at her office with no lines, no numbers, and not having to wait months for an appointment at the DMV. There are things that she is unable to do like Identification or Driver’s License renewals or applications. People will still have to go directly to DMV for those services.

Perez speaks Spanish as well as English and has regular business hours Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and is open on Saturday from 9 a.m. until noon.

She is still an agent for Farmers Insurance that offers Auto, Home, Business, Life, and bonds. Perez explained that if you need bond insurance, special event insurance or insurance for a vehicle that is going into Mexico she has the coverages for Mexico. They give free quotes and discounts for bundling.

“You do not have to be a Farmers member or client to use the DMV services or the notary,” expressed Perez. “It is open to anybody. They can pop in at any time.”
