A Sunday afternoon fire, May 10, saw a quick response, with multiple units responding shortly after 3 p.m. to the area of Rodden Road and Grey Fox in Oakdale. Modesto Engine 28 was dispatched for a smoke check in the area and determined the fire was on the North side of the Stanislaus River at Kerr Park. Modesto Battalion 5, Brush 29, Brush 27 and Water Tender 27 responded to assist. The 30 x 30 fire was located in heavy brush; crews were able to contain it to that area. A transient campsite was located adjacent to the fire. Later, crews also responded to a trailer fire at Sierra and H Street in Oakdale, about 5:45 p.m. Sunday.
