Veterans' Day Luncheon Offered This Month

Like they have for many years, the Riverbank Royal Neighbors of America organization will be hosting a special Veterans' Day gathering in the city.

Plans are being finalized for the event, which is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 17 at the Riverbank Community Center.

"Doors will open at 11 a.m. and we will start serving the luncheon at noon," said organizer Diane Talbert. "We welcome all our veterans and they can each bring a guest for a free lunch."

The meal is provided through Blodgett Catering.

"We are also going to have the POW/MIA table ceremony there this year," Talbert added.

The luncheon typically draws a number of area veterans and organizers said they want to encourage all service members to come, whether they served in World War II, in Iraq or Afghanistan, or anywhere in between. The Riverbank High School band will be there to offer some musical selections and members of the school's NJROTC program are also scheduled to attend.
