Winery ‘Meet And Greet’
Wine

The new owners of Gianelli Vineyards and Tasting Room are hosting a “Meet and Greet” from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, July 22 at the Tasting Room, 18158 Main St., Jamestown.

Amy Veldstra and Brendt Noon, owners of the historical Rawhide Saloon on Highway 108 in Jamestown, are now venturing into the Sierra Foothills’ growing wine industry with the purchase of Gianelii Vineyards and Tasting Room, also in Jamestown.

Lori Gianelli, who with husband Ron launched the winery in 2000 and has been deeply involved since then, will remain active in the winery day-to-day operations and continue to work with winemaker Cody LaPertche and promote Gianelli’s 14 estate-grown varietals.

All Gianelli Wine Club members will receive a complimentary glass of wine at the Meet and Greet event and all new sign-ups and members will be entered into a drawing for a winery tour and private tasting for four at the Gianelli Vineyards on Algerine Road.

In addition to the Tasting Room at 18158 Main St., the business includes 30 acres of vineyards and a winemaking/bottling operation on Algerine Road in Jamestown.

Veldstra and Noon said they approached Gianelli as soon as they learned she was considering selling the business as she moves closer to retirement.
