Winter Homecoming Due at RHS

Winter Homecoming celebrations arrive at Riverbank High School next week.

Students will mark the event with dress-up days starting on Monday, class competitions at lunch each day, choice of a king at a dodge ball game Thursday evening and announcement of a queen at the basketball game against Orestimba on Friday.

The theme this year is Up, Up And Away With The Warriors and dress will celebrate comic book heroes, said Student Activities Director Christine Perez.

The freshmen are allocated Spiderman for Monday, the sophomores will have Incredible Hulk on Tuesday, the juniors celebrate Batman on Wednesday and the seniors dress like Captain America on Thursday.

Costumes will be Goth on Monday, "Sporty" on Tuesday, formal business attire on Wednesday and "make you own superman" on Thursday.

Corresponding spirit colors should be black and silver on Monday, green and purple on Tuesday, black and yellow on Wednesday, red and blue on Thursday and the RHS Pride maroon and silver on Friday.

The top five king and queen candidates are due to be announced this coming Friday, Jan. 28, at the end of sixth period.

The Homecoming Queen will be named on Feb. 4 during halftime of the varsity basketball game. Winner of the class competition and the Spirit Bear award will be announced at the same time.
