Winter Homecoming Due At Riverbank High

Winter Homecoming is coming to Riverbank High School.

Students nominated King and Queen candidates this past Wednesday, today will vote for their top five and at lunchtime hold a fashion show to prepare for spirit dress-up days due next week.

The King will be announced at halftime of a dodge ball game between students and staff on Thursday, Jan. 26 and the Queen named the next day at halftime of the home varsity basketball game against Modesto Christian. That same day at lunchtime, classes will compete in decorating a class wall.

The theme this year is ancient Greek Gods and Goddesses with the Freshmen celebrating Morpheus on Monday for a pajama day, the Sophomores hailing Poseidon on Tuesday for a beach theme, the Juniors recognizing Hercules for sports and athletics on Wednesday and the Seniors marking Ares in combat camouflage on Thursday.

Friday will celebrate Zeus and togas are expected for that spirit day.

The Homecoming activities are being organized by the Leadership Class advised by long term substitute teacher Wendy Hunter who is filling in for Christine Perez while she is taking maternity leave.
