Following a dispute over a set of games earlier this season, the Riverbank Outlaws youth football and cheer organization has decided to change the league it plays in.

The teams were forced to take a bye two weekends ago as the new schedule went into effect, but play was able to resume this past weekend, with home games held against the Ceres Junior Bulldogs squads. Games were Saturday, Sept. 6 at Angelo Novi Field on the Riverbank High School campus.

Outlaws football and cheer president Paul Rocha noted: “That chapter is now behind us, and our families and kids are stronger because of it. The energy, excitement, and pride within our Outlaws community is undeniable.

“We are looking forward to this new journey with the Central Valley Youth Football & Cheer League and are confident it will create lasting memories and opportunities for every child in our program.”

The Outlaws came up short in all four games on Sept. 6. The Novice team fell, 44-6, Rookies similarly, 34-6, JV fell 37-0, and the Varsity ended with a shutout loss to Ceres, 41-0.

The football and cheer squads have another bye scheduled this weekend, then host Lathrop on Sept. 20, and yet another bye on Sept. 27.

They also have a home game scheduled, welcoming Tracy on Oct. 4, a Homecoming game against Mudville on Oct. 11, then a final regular season game at Manteca, on Oct. 18, before playoffs begin on Oct. 25.
