A total of 24 boats showed up on the Delta for the First Annual Delta Brown Bag Tournament. Every boat underwent a check for those hidden baits that were still in the boat prior to the start, as the anglers were supposed to come in with no baits of their own, instead using those that were provided. Few baits were found and the all clear was given. Anglers blasted off at safe light with everyone wanting to know what was in the secret bait bags that were tossed into each boat as they passed the dock for blast off. The wind was up a little and there was a slight chill in the air for this short day of fishing. Everyone was hoping the bite would be up from the previous week. The one thing that was sure, each participant was going to have to put their game into high gear to bring in the winning weight.
With all bags being the same it was going to be left up to the most creative fishermen and a little luck. There were two flights for the day. With the first flight coming in at 12:30 p.m., organizers were looking forward to seeing what the day had held for the fishermen.
