This past week saw Lady Bruin soccer players host two scrimmage matches while the Bruin boys varsity basketball squad welcomed a team from Enochs High School in Modesto.

Bruin Basketball

Riverbank varsity boys basketball kicked off its 2021-22 season with a non-league game at home against the Enochs Eagles on Friday, Nov. 19, with the Eagles pulling off a fourth quarter comeback, ending on top, 61-47, by the final buzzer. The Bruins were able to hold onto a lead through the first three frames.

RHS boys basketball has games scheduled for Nov. 24, but they’re earlier than usual because it’s a short school day before the Thanksgiving break. The freshman game will start at 2 p.m., JV at 3:30, and varsity at 5 p.m.

The Bruins will be hosting the Ceres High School Bulldogs. Their next game will be on Monday, Nov. 29, and they’ll be hosting Johansen High in the varsity only Foundation game.

Lady Bruin Soccer

Girls soccer hosted a pair of scrimmages last week, hosting Chavez High School’s Lady Titans from Stockton on Monday, Nov. 15. On Thursday, they took on Kimball High School’s Lady Jaguars, from Tracy.

Since they were scrimmages, no referees participated and the scoreboard was dark, so no score was kept and there was no timer.

The girls soccer team was scheduled to compete in the Stagg Tournament last Friday and Saturday, but scores were not reported.

They were set to play in Oakdale on Monday, Nov. 22. Tuesday, they were to host Weston Ranch in a non-league match.

Girls Basketball

The Lady Bruins were on the road at Davis High School on Friday, Nov. 19, but no score was reported.

They were set to travel to Waterford this week, to compete in the Wallace Memorial Tournament there. They won’t be playing at home again until Tuesday, Dec. 14, against Central Valley.

Bruin Soccer

Boys soccer teams were on the road last week, on Thursday, Nov. 18, with a scrimmage at Ripon Christian, and again, on Friday, at the Cougars, of Golden Valley High School in Merced.

The Bruins were to host Central Valley’s Hawks, from Ceres, on Monday, Nov. 22. Their next match is set for Monday, Nov. 29, as they host Central Catholic’s Raiders, from Modesto.
