Players with the Oakdale Baseball-Softball Association (OBSA) completed their season in June, with championship games played to close out the program.

In addition to 60 Oakdale teams this year, Riverbank and Escalon also played common schedules with OBSA.

Several league champions for the 2022 season were crowned, though there were no competitive standings for the T-Ball and Rookie American leagues. There were some trophies, medals and rings presented to the winning teams.

Following are the individual division champions, with information provided by OBSA officials.

Babe Ruth 8u Softball, the ASU Sun Devils, coached by Brad McGhee, going 10-8-1, sponsored by TSM Insurance.

Babe Ruth 10u Softball, the LSU Tigers, coach Shane Cornett, 16-1-0, Cornett Plumbing Services.

Babe Ruth 14u Softball, Riverbank Maroon, 15-2-1, Tovar’s Landscaping.

Cal Ripken Rookie (7-8), Red Sox, coach Madison Sorensen, 8-4-5, J.E. Cattle Co.

Cal Ripken Minors (9-10), Braves, coach Travis Hudson, 18-1-0, Cottonwood Café.

Cal Ripken Majors (11-12), White Sox, coach Justin Krum, 16-1-0, 1st Light Energy.

Base Ruth Baseball (13-15), Cubs, coach Geir Zotti, 14-1-2, Shamrock Group.

The local baseball and softball program has been playing since 1960, first at what is now Fair Oaks Field, before the school was built. The program expanded to additional fields a few years later and has been continuously in operation since 1965 except for the one-year hiatus due to the pandemic during 2020.
