Riverbank High School athletes are on winter break, but that hasn’t stopped them from continuing with pre-season contests. RHS grapplers were able to co-host matches here at home on Wednesday, Dec. 18. It was the first time in five years that the mats have been used for a competition in the Ray Fauria Memorial Gymnasium. There have been wrestlers during interim seasons, but only a few, not enough to host a full-roster meet.
Although there still isn’t a complete roster in all weight categories, Riverbank was able to host a meet by combining with Modesto Christian’s Crusaders, to take on Hughson’s wrestling Huskies.
Riverbank’s next outing is a dual meet scheduled for Wednesday, Jan. 8. The opponents are still to be announced.
