The Manteca Buffaloes hosted their first - and likely annual - Buffalo Cup soccer tournament and while the Riverbank Bruins had no problem making some noise in the tournament, the squad was unable to put it all together for a win.

The Bruins dropped all of their contests, slipping to Linden 2-1 in Riverbank's final action of the tournament. Riverbank dropped its tournament opener to the host Buffaloes 2-0 after mounting a series of attacks that came up empty.

The Bruins have one tune-up remaining on their preseason slate before things get going on the Trans-Valley League schedule. The Bruins will meet up with Johansen on Sept. 13 before beginning the league portion of the schedule with the tough Modesto Christian Crusaders.

The Bruins will be expected to make a strong push in TVL action, looking to get some wins on the board and reasserting themselves as one of the top teams in the league.
