It was a busy week on the home court for Riverbank High School’s boys and girls basketball teams. The hoopsters are in the midst of Trans-Valley League action, looking to get wins on the books and extend their season in the playoffs.
Bruin Basketball
The boys teams faced three Trans-Valley League foes this past week, with two wins and a loss the result.
On Tuesday, Jan. 17, Riverbank hosted the Knights from Ripon Christian High School, falling 64-50. On Thursday, the Bruins took on the visiting Livingston Wolves, squeaking out a 52-51 victory in that one. The boys then traveled to Hilmar, posting a 61-55 win there over the Yellowjackets.
This week, they’re scheduled to play two on the road, at Escalon on Jan. 25, then at Ripon High School on Friday, Jan. 27.
Lady Bruin Basketball
The girls, on the other hand, had two TVL games on the road, then played a third on the home court, on Friday. Jan. 21.
Riverbank traveled to Ripon Christian last Tuesday, defeating the Lady Knights, 67-24. Then on Thursday, the Lady Bruins were at Livingston, finishing on top, 62-17. On Friday, Riverbank hosted Hilmar, finishing with a decisive victory, 85-31, over the Lady Yellowjackets.
RHS was to host Escalon in key TVL play on Tuesday, Jan. 24 and then welcome in Ripon High School on Thursday, Jan. 26. After the first round of league play, the girls were at 5-1 in TVL, 17-3 overall.
Lady Bruin Soccer
Girls soccer was up against Ripon on Thursday, Jan. 19, falling 2-0. They were set to play Escalon in league action on Jan. 24. For next week, they are scheduled to be on the road at Hughson.
Bruin Soccer
The Bruin boys soccer team played at Ripon on Thursday, Jan. 19, posting a 7-0 TVL victory. They were scheduled to play Escalon on Jan. 24, then host Hughson on Thursday, Jan. 26. The team record as of last weekend stood at 3-0-1 in the Trans-Valley League.
