Not to be outdone by other Riverbank High School sports teams, its golfers played a couple of tournaments during the Easter vacation.

"We didn't score or place that high. But I wanted to give the guys a chance to play 18-hole courses before the league tournament," said Bruin coach John Bartlett.

Riverbank played in the Albert Croce Memorial at Lockeford Springs Golf Course on April 12, and in another tournament hosted by Edison High School at the Van Buskirk Golf Course on Wednesday.

Top golfer Kyle Vaughn was away on a family trip for Monday's match. So Riverbank was playing with four freshmen, Bartlett noted.

This week, the Bruins were due to face Escalon at its home course in Oakdale on Tuesday. They will play Hilmar at the Bruins home course of La Contenta in Valley Springs on Thursday.
