Hosting the Riverbank Doubles Tournament on Friday, March 6, it was a very successful day for the Bruin netters.
Head coach Bruce Edwards said the team won both divisions – morning and afternoon – in the 18th annual tournament hosted by the school.
Riverbank competed in the tournament against Delhi, Waterford, Hughson, Orestimba, Sonora, Bret Harte, Summerville and Ripon Christian.
“Nathalie Garcia took first in girls doubles with partner Noemy Torres in the morning and first in mixed doubles with Elijah Zamora,” Edwards noted of the twin wins for Garcia.
The team as a whole has been playing well in the early going, said the coach, capping it off with their first ever sweep of their own doubles tournament.
Edwards said they will have to stay focused and play their best as they take on teams this season in the Mother Lode League.
