Track and field athlete Kasey Wool won four events and competed in a winning relay during Riverbank's meet against Hughson on Wednesday.

The Bruins won the girls meet 87-48, and the boys events by 72-64.

Wool, a junior, placed first in the 100 meter hurdles in 17.0, the long jump with a leap of 15-10, the in the pole vault with a height of 10-6 and the 100 meters sprint in 13.6.

"She's very talented. She was entered in seven events. She tied her PR in the pole vault," said her coach, Monte Wood.

Kelly Clancey, a freshman, was also outstanding, winning the triple jump with 32-1, and the 300 meter hurdles in 54.2, placing second in the long jump and the pole vault.

"We dominated in the girls distance races too, although Hughson had some good people in the 400 and 200 meters," said Wood.

Other Bruin winners were Denise Tafolla, with 6:34 for the 1,600 meters; Britanny Harrison, with 1:08.5 for the 400 meters, and 2:42 for the 800 meters; and Maritza, with 13:12 for the 3,200 meters.

In the boys events, Francisco Rangel surprised everyone with a winning discus throw of 1:23.8, which is close to his best ever.

David Harrison cleared 14 feet in the pole vault and won the 300 meter hurdles. He also ran the fastest leg in Riverbank's winning 4x400 meter relay when the Bruins were trailing on points going into this final event.

Michael Duarte did well in the hurdles, the 400 meters and the mile relay.

Brandon Parker, "a fast little guy," won both the 100 meters and the 200 meters and anchored the winning 4x100 meter relay.

Other Bruin winners included Ben DeYoung, with 17.8 for the 110 hurdles; and Ralphie Stevens, with a 41-11 for the triple jump.

Today's home meet has been postponed because Ripon has a conflict in scheduling. It will probably be combined with the meet against Livingston on April 28. Next Wednesday, April 7, the meet will be at home against Escalon.
