The successes and failures of the River Oak Redskins will all be a thing of the past when the Central Valley Trojans take to the field to open their inaugural season Aug. 8 in the Delta Youth Sports Association.

The Trojans will kick off their first season, which that will pit the Trojans against other teams in the league for a series of scrimmages in preparation for the league opener.

Central Valley will then make the lengthy trek to Galt for the regular season opener against the Liberty Ranch Jr. Hawks on Aug. 15. The Trojans will then make their home debut the following weekend when they play host to the Galt Jr. Warriors at Riverbank High on Aug. 22.

The squad will enjoy home field advantage for another weekend when the Delta Patriots pay a visit to Riverbank High Aug. 29.

Central Valley will then pack their bags for Ceres when they take on the Saints Sept. 5, followed by back-to-back home games against the Delta Valley Wolfpack Sept. 19 and then the Delta Patriots East on Sept. 26.

The Trojans will then close out their first regular season with back-to-back road games against the Delta Patriots West squad, followed by a trip to Lodi to close out the regular season play against the Tokay Jr. Tigers.

The Trojans cheer squads will compete in a cheerleading competition on Oct. 17 with mandatory participation from all of the D.Y.S.A teams, giving the girls ample time to get a few routines under their belts.

With a strong showing during the regular season, Central Valley will hopefully land a berth in the first-round of the 2009 playoffs kicking off Oct. 24. The second-round will be conducted the following weekend Oct. 31 with a spot in the Super Bowl resting one victory away.

Conference championships will be Nov. 7, putting together the final pieces of the 2009 Superbowl match up. The Trojans will have to handle business in a talented East Division, facing off against the Jr. Warriors, Jr. Hawks, Saints and Jr. Tigers of Lodi for a spot in the league's final contest.

All-star players will be chosen based on regular season performance, bringing the 2009 season to a close with a week-long practice session leading up to the league's all-star game on Nov. 21.
