Coach Meets With Parents, Lays Out RHS Grid Season

Incoming RHS varsity football coach Anthony ‘Anno’ Buich held an organizational meeting for players, coaches and parents at Pizza Plus Restaurant in downtown Riverbank on July 24, explaining his program and laying out his plan to be more victorious this year.

He explained the extra workout days that were scheduled for the end of last week, and the beginning of regular practice, which started on Monday, July 29. School resumes on Wednesday, Aug. 7.

The RHS football season includes 10 games, beginning with an away match at Big Valley Christian High School on Saturday, Aug. 24, at 5:15 p.m. and 7 p.m.

The 2019 Bruin schedule includes five home games, with the first on Friday, Aug. 30, hosting Delta High School from Clarksburg.

Following that they’ll host Stone Ridge Christian on Sept. 6, then go to Millennium High School in Tracy on Sept. 13. and to Modesto Christian on Sept. 20.

The Bruins return home to face Ripon High School on Sept. 27, and host Hughson’s Huskies for Homecoming, Oct. 4. Friday, Oct. 11, sees them play at Escalon, then they host Livingston on Oct. 18 for a final home game. They are closing out their season at Hilmar.

Also in attendance at the meeting last week was RHS Athletic Director John Bartlett, who explained the process for downloading, filling out the form for athlete’s physicals, then uploading them to the district.

He said coaching staff no longer needed to collect them, freeing them up for other activities.
