Opening June 6

The Riverbank Community Pool will begin opening daily for recreational swimming on Monday, June 6. Hours will be 12:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays, and noon to 4 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. The admission cost is $1.25 for children under 18, and $2 for adults. Season passes cost $40 for an individual and $60 for a family

Swimming lessons will also start June 6. And they will run in five two-week sessions from Monday through Thursday. The cost is $30 for residents and $32 for non-residents. Pre-registration is required.

Classes fill up quickly. Registration takes place at the Recreation Department, 6707 Third Street, or by calling 869-7010 for information.

In other Recreation Department programs:

_ Drama camp, for children age six through 12, will run June 20 through June 24 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Jacob Myers Park. Participants make stage props, learn lines and perform a show.

It will conclude with a grand performance and barbecue on the Friday. The fee is $65. Register at the Recreation Department office at 6707 Third Street. For information, call 869-7010.

_ The Recreation Department is also seeking signups for volleyball, basketball and outdoor adventure camps, which all are slated for July. Volleyball for ages 10-14 will run mornings from July 5 to July 8; basketball for girls in the morning and boys in the afternoon from July 11 to July 15; and an outdoor adventure camp at Jacob Myers Park, also from July 11-15. The cost is $40 for volleyball or basketball and $65 for the outdoor adventure camp.
