



The winter sports schedules are beginning to wrap up at Riverbank High School, with the traditional Senior Night recognition at final home games last week and this.
Bruin Basketball
Boys basketball played two games last week, both league contests. They suffered an 85-78 loss to a much taller Ripon Indians team here at home on Tuesday, Jan. 29, but won on the road at Hughson on Thursday last week, Jan. 31, taking down the Huskies by a final score of 55-43.
As of last Friday, the varsity boys team was 6-4 in Trans-Valley League action, third in the standings behind Ripon and Ripon Christian. All that remained on the schedule was a Tuesday, Feb. 5 game hosting RC, with the boys ending the regular season on the road at Livingston on Friday.
The varsity boys were to celebrate their seniors at Tuesday night’s game and look to end the season strong, battling for a playoff spot.
Bruin Soccer
Riverbank boys soccer beat Ripon’s Indians here at home, 2-1, on Tuesday, Jan. 29. They were to host Hilmar on Tuesday, Feb. 5 after The News went to press, and have their last game, also at home, Thursday against Escalon, also celebrating their seniors.
Lady Bruin Basketball
The varsity girls lost their home game against Hughson’s Lady Huskies, 62-26, on Jan. 31. Away games remaining on their schedule included Ripon Christian on Tuesday, and Escalon coming to town for a Thursday, Feb. 7 contest, saying goodbye on Senior Night Thursday as well, to close out the 2018-19 season.
Girls Soccer
The Lady Bruin varsity soccer team had a tough time hosting the Lady Indians of Ripon on Tuesday, Jan. 29, falling 7-0, on their Senior Night.
They were play at Hilmar on Feb. 5 and will travel to Escalon for a Thursday, Feb. 7 game to finish out their 2018-19 winter season.
