Fishing tournament slated at Oak Grove Regional Park

Local anglers and all young fishing enthusiasts are encouraged to get ready for a special event.

The San Joaquin County Parks system is hosting the Bob McMillen Memorial Fishing Tournament, scheduled at Oak Grove Regional Park in Stockton. The tournament is coming up on Saturday, March 2. Gates will open at 6:15 a.m. and the last weigh-in is at 12:30 p.m.

There is a $5 fishing permit fee and those 16 years and older need a valid California fishing license to participate.

There will be both youth and adult competitions and 2,000 pounds of trout have been stocked. There is a five-trout limit and a $6 vehicle entry fee. Oak Grove Regional Park is at 4520 W. Eight Mile Road, Stockton.
