Baseball and soccer squads took losses this week in Trans-Valley League play, while the Lady Bruin varsity softball team came up with a much-needed victory on the road.

Following are results of recent games. No information could be obtained regarding Bruin tennis. The golf team, which does not have enough members to constitute a team, continues to forfeit matches to TVL opponents but gets players on the links to compete.

BASEBALL

A tough game at home on Friday saw the Bruin varsity diamondmen fall by a 5-3 final to visiting Hilmar. This was after scoring what was hoped to be an insurance run to lead it 3-1 in the bottom of the sixth. But the Yellowjackets battled back for a four-run top of the seventh and took the TVL win.

In earlier action, the Bruins traveled to Hilmar for a Wednesday, April 2 game and fell behind early, 3-0, as the host Yellowjackets put some runs on the board in the second inning. One run in the fourth and four more in the fifth made it an 8-0 game before Riverbank scratched back for a single run in the top of the sixth, avoiding the shutout.

The latest JV scores available were both losses to Orestimba; the Hilmar information was not available.
