This coming Sunday, Aug. 30 try-outs will be held for the Oakdale Inferno Cheer team. The try-out is for cheer hopefuls in sixth through tenth grades.

The tryout session will include a routine, stretching and tumbling. The recently completed season was a big success for the Inferno program as it brought home multiple honors, including the title of national champions with a first place win at the JAMZ Nationals competition in January 2020.

This year’s competitive season is scheduled to begin in February, and the team is scheduled to take part in four competitions.

Oakdale Inferno is coached by Deneen Fields, Samantha Silva and junior coach Gianna Fields. This weekend’s try-out will take place at the Infinite Athletics Gym at 628 Delano Drive in Oakdale. The cost is $20 per athlete. There will be no spectators allowed during try-outs, you are instructed to drop off your athlete and return later for pick up.

Try-outs are scheduled to begin at 8:30 a.m. and conclude at 10:30 a.m.

Results of the try-outs will be released later that evening.
