Riverbank High School's junior varsity football team also won its game against Waterford by 26-6.

Evan Gunther scored in the second quarter on a 15-yard pass from Cooper Vegas, but the PAT kick failed.

Esteban Zapian posted another touchdown in the third quarter in a 40-yard run and ran the conversion.

Zapian again scored in the same quarter on a 15-yard run, but the kick again failed.

Addison Tenor cemented the Bruin win in the last quarter on a 40-yard run. The kick once more went astray.

Waterford's only touchdown came in the third quarter on a pass.

"They couldn't do anything on the ground," said Bruin coach Rudy Serrato of the opposition. "We ran the ball well. Zapian had over 150 yards in rushing."

The whole Bruin offense blocked well and made holes for him, he said, adding that Waterford never adapted to the Riverbank offense.

The defense was aggressive too. Cory Bigelow picked off two interceptions to give the ball back to the Bruins, and Marcus Garcia played a great game as running back.

Riverbank kept switching tailbacks to keep them fresh. Rodney Robbins, in addition to Zapien, Tenor and Garcia played tailback at one time or another.
