Tough defeats at the tail of end of conference play have the Riverbank High volleyball and golf programs on the verge of ending their seasons.

The Bruin volleyball team dropped consecutive matches in Trans-Valley League action this past week while Riverbank golfers struggled at the conference championship tournament.

Volleyball

Riverbank was downed in three consecutive games to visiting Escalon on Oct. 17, but showed fight in all three games during 25-9, 25-9, 25-15 losses at home.

The Lady Bruins fell 3-1 to Orestimba two days later, though scores were not available.

Golf

Riverbank failed to reach the Division V championship tournament as a team, but senior standout Courtney Floyd represented the Lady Bruins at Stevenson Ranch on Monday as an individual qualifier. Floyd was in the hunt for Valley Foothill League MVP status, but allowed Bret Harte's Emaline Ellsworth and Ripon's Haylee Fannin to share the conference honor after scores from the VFL championships on Oct. 17.
