With each team in the Trans-Valley League gearing up for the lightning fast start of league play, the Riverbank High softball squad is seemingly getting into their groove with solid play to kick off league action.

After spotting a talented Modesto Christian team five runs in the first two innings, Riverbank chipped and clawed their way back into the contest, yet the damage had been done.

The Lady Bruins would score in the fourth and the fifth innings, but could not keep the Crusaders off the board as they went on to put up three more runs in the fifth and a pair in the sixth to pretty much wrap up the TVL win.

Riverbank showed no quit, pouring on a three run seventh to close the gap to 11-6. After playing a solid contest, the Lady Bruins liked their chances against a young Ripon Christian squad on March 20, even after falling behind in the early innings once again.

Kaylin Pavalos, who went 2-for-3 with a double in the loss to Modesto Christian, continued to be a spark plug for the Lady Bruins, going 2-for-4 with a pair of doubles while driving in three runs in a 10-2 victory over the Knights.

Riverbank shook off another early inning deficit as Ripon Christian scored two runs in the opening frame. The Lady Bruins would tie things up in the top of the third with a 2-run inning and blew Ripon Christian away with a 6-run fifth inning to seal the victory.
