With just about a month remaining in the 2022-23 school year, Riverbank High athletes are seeing the end of their spring sports seasons coming. Just a few league contests remain and some teams will continue on past the close of the regular TVL campaign.

Lady Bruin Softball

The girls had a pair of Trans-Valley League games against Ripon High School last week, on the road on Wednesday, April 26, and at home on Friday, April 28. Riverbank dropped the first, 6-4, but came out on top of a close one on the home field, 6-5. They also squeezed in a preseason make-up game against Stone Ridge Christian High School in Merced the Monday before, falling 1-0.

At the end of the week, Riverbank was ranked number two in the TVL standings trailing just Ripon in the race for the top spot. They will continue facing off with league opponents, and their last regular season game is scheduled at home on Thursday, May 11. This week, the Lady Bruins are scheduled to host Hughson on Wednesday, May 3; welcome Hilmar in for a Monday, May 8 contest; then travel to Escalon for a game on Wednesday, May 10 before wrapping up May 11 on the home diamond with Livingston.

Bruin Baseball

Riverbank varsity baseball also played a pair of games, home and away, falling in each contest. They were on the road facing the Yellowjackets from Hilmar, on Tuesday, April 25, with the locals falling 17-0 in five innings. They had the same outcome, a loss, but this time by a 20-8 final, on Thursday at home. The Thursday game was their last home game of the season, so afterwards, the team recognized graduating seniors on the team.

The Bruin baseball season ended with the team notching two wins, 17 losses overall, and going 0-12 in TVL standings.

Bruin Golf

The boys golf team took its last TVL turn around the course against Ripon last Thursday, with the league championship set for Monday this week, May 1, then the Sac-Joaquin Section meet next Monday and the Masters meet set for May 15 in Stockton.
