Best Of The West Wrestling Hits Merced

This Saturday night, Sept. 9, independent wrestling invades Merced. Best of the West will be holding a televised event, IGNITION, at American Legion Post 83 in Merced with bell time set for 6 p.m.

This live event will feature Heavyweight Champion Funnybone defending his title against the number one contender and former champion Wiseguy. Twenty-year veteran inside the ring, Robby Phoenix, will clash with the young high flyer Biagio Crescenzo. Local fan favorites the Midnight Marvels will take on popular tag team Classic Connection in a tag team match. The West Coast Championship will also be on the line when champion Virgil Flynn III defends his title against Vintage Dragon in what will surely get the fans on their feet. Another local favorite, The California Black Sheep Mike Rayne, will step inside with the bizarre Jeckles the Jester in a one on one bout.

Also on the card will be the highly anticipated I Quit Match between Steven Tresario and Johnny Butabi.

Adult tickets in advance are $15 in advance, $20 at the door. Tickets for children 12 and under are priced at $10 in advance, $15 at the door. All former and current military can buy tickets for $10 in advance, $15 at the door. All emergency personnel (law enforcement, firefighters, EMT’s, and paramedics) can also get their tickets for $10 in advance or $15 at the door.

Best of the West will return to Merced on Saturday, Nov. 18.
