Recent selections to prestigious county all-star rosters has breathed new life into the lore of Riverbank High graduates and upcoming seniors this month.

Class of 2013 grads Chad Oliver and Armando Manriquez will join soon-to-be senior Tristin Rodgers on a roster of talented athletes for the Modesto Sunrise Rotary 24th Annual All Star Baseball Classic on Saturday, June 8 at Modesto’s John Thurman Field.

The three were standouts on Riverbank’s stubborn baseball program this spring, and played major roles in the program’s biggest victories of the season. They will square off with top local opposition at 7:05 p.m.

Oliver has also been slated for participation in the North vs. South All Star Rotary football game on June 28 at Golden Valley High in Merced. This game features the top football talent from 27 Sac-Joaquin Section schools, pitted against stiff opposition from 27 Central Section programs.

The North squad will roster the players from California Interscholastic Federation State Bowl winner Central Catholic and CIF Bowl runner-up Oakdale (Division IV and III SJS champions), as well as section champion Le Grande (D-V) and runner-up Escalon (D-IV).

The South garners players from the highly regarded Fresno area with the CS division I runner-up (Central), DII runner up (Sanger), DV champion (Liberty) and the DVI winner (Mendota) in attendance.

That game begins at 7:45 p.m.
