Bruin Athletes Receive Awards For Spring Sports

Kicking off a busy week of activities for Riverbank High School, spring sports athletes gathered on Monday, May 15, to receive their awards for baseball, softball, tennis, track and field and golf.

Coaches from the spring teams named their inspirational players and announced their awards at the Ray Fauria Memorial Gymnasium that night.

Softball Coach Cassi Ross named Cristina Perez as All Bruin. Alyssa Frear was Most Improved and Offensive Player of the Year went to Joslyn Beliera. Ross presented the Coaches Award to Lily Gallagher.

Varsity Baseball Coach Scott Chambers named Ivan Vega as All Bruin. Most Improved went to Alex Solorio and MVP was Carlos Villapudua and the Coaches Award went to Eduardo Flores.

Bruin coach Ismael Mercado named freshman Andrew Palomino as All Bruin on his fledgling boys golf team.

Track and Field coach Monte Wood named Jalen Spikes as All Bruin, Most Valuable Runner was Zac Richison, and Xavier Esquivel as MVP in Field Events for the boys team.

For girls, he called out Alondra Hernandez as All Bruin, Alexa Guiterrez as Most Valuable Runner and Jenise Perryman as MVP in Field Events.

Co-ed Bruin Tennis Coach Bruce Edwards tagged Alex Alfaro as All Bruin, Most Valuable was Jessica Vasquez and the Most Improved went to both Jackie Pantoja and Jason Montalvo.
