Beginning skateboarders got some first class instruction at the first round of Skateboard Camp, offered at the Riverbank Skate Park, Santa Fe and First streets, this past week. The week long class took place from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., with the park closed to the public during those hours. The class was limited to students from six to 12 years of age, with no experience on a board, and was sponsored by the Riverbank Parks and Recreation Department.

The class instruction focused on technique, safety and more.

Instruction continues Monday, July 7 through Friday, July 11 at the park, with classes then limited to Intermediate boarders only.

Registration for activities and classes is available online at www.riverbankrecreation.com.
