Football, Volleyball Underway At Riverbank High
Cheer RIV
The 2017-18 RHS Cheer Squad performed during the Welcome Back Rally at the end of the school day this past Friday. Activities pitting class teams against each other highlighted the event, with upperclassmen seeming to come out on top. Riverbank High School students are settled into their fall classes, so it seems a good time for fall sports to begin as well.

The Bruin football team is scheduled to play host to the Trojan-Warriors of Madison Park Academy from Oakland, for their first game of the 2017 season, on Friday, Aug. 25. The published schedule calls for a 7:30 p.m. game time at Angelo Novi Stadium on the Riverbank High Campus.

If there is a Junior Varsity game, it is set to start at 5:30 p.m.

Next week, the Bruins are set to host Western Sierra Collegiate Academy from Rocklin.

Volleyball Begins

The varsity Lady Bruins will begin their season on the road, at the Orestimba Tournament on Saturday, Aug. 26 in Newman. Preseason tournaments typically provide several contests for teams, taking the court against multiple opponents in a day.

Riverbank will host the Foundation Game, with the Ceres Lady Bulldogs coming to town on Monday, Aug. 28. Game time is set for 7 p.m.

They’ll travel to Galt to take on Liberty Ranch next Tuesday, Aug. 29, then return home to host Argonaut High School of Jackson, on Wednesday, Aug. 30. That varsity game time is set for 6 p.m.

Runners Getting Ready

The Bruin cross country teams are also preparing for the season ahead, starting with a Team Time Trial and Barbecue on the schedule at Woodward Reservoir in Oakdale on Saturday, Aug. 26.
