The Riverbank Raiders Youth Football teams played their next to last home games on Saturday, Oct. 3, with disappointing results.

The Raiders hosted the Calaveras Junior Redskins from San Andreas. Home games are played at the Riverbank Sports Complex on Morrill Road, just west of Oakdale Road.

The Redskins did not field a Junior Novice team (7- and 8-year-olds).

In the Novice game, 9- and 10-year-olds, Riverbank was blanked, 38-0. In the Junior Varsity (11-12 year-olds), it was much closer, with the home team just missing out on the 12-6 final tally.

The Varsity team (13-14 year-olds) were skunked 46-0.

The Raiders travel next week to Sonora, to take on the Junior Cats, on Saturday, Oct. 10.

They return home for the final game of the regular season, hosting the Amador County Eagles of Sutter Creek on Oct. 17.

Home games are at 12:30 p.m., 2 p.m., 4 p.m., and 6 p.m. from the Junior Novice to the Varsity respectively.

Playoffs begin on Oct. 24, with the possibility of a first round game being played here.
