Through the organization’s non-profit sector, the Anchor Fund, the Stockton Ports minor league baseball team gave approximately $38,683 in monetary donations and $258,576 of in-kind donations to local non-profits in 2016.

Through various fundraisers held at Banner Island Ballpark, the Ports were able to raise over $16,000 with the help of generous fans. The two revenue-leading events included the tenth annual Pink Night, in which $5,192 benefited St. Joseph’s Medical Center, and the fourth annual Prostate Cancer Awareness night, which raised $4,450 for Sutter Gould Medical Foundation. Additional fundraisers included Root Beer Float Day, Youth Baseball Camps, FanFest, and Anchor Fund Weekend.

The Ports had over 50,000 individuals participate in programs such as Silver Sluggers, Kids’ Club, Baseball by the Books, and the Summer Reading Program. Through these outreach programs, the Ports were able to provide fans with donated or discounted tickets, with over 50,000 tickets distributed to those who participated.

The Stockton Ports’ Anchor Fund was established in early 2007 and has helped support many community projects, with a primary focus on youth centers and youth sports. The charitable fund reflects and reaffirms the Ports’ commitment to strengthening the community using baseball and entertainment as a backdrop, with 458 non-profit organizations receiving donations in 2016.

“Again in 2016, the Anchor Fund demonstrated the Ports’ commitment to supporting the San Joaquin community through its various fundraisers and programs, and I could not be more proud of the strides we made this season,” said President Pat Filippone. “This would not be possible without the support of our fans and dedication of the front office staff and players. We look forward to growing upon this season’s success in 2017.”
