Cloudy, threatening skies developed into rain showers during last week’s sports schedule, preventing some games from being played as scheduled.
Bruin baseball hosting Summerville was canceled on Monday, March 7. A game at Ripon Christian played as scheduled on Thursday, March 10 saw the Riverbank varsity losing by a 12-2 final.
In Track, the intramural Bruin Challenge went on as it was supposed to, at home on Monday, and the Stanislaus County Meet was contested on Friday, March 11, at Stanislaus State in Turlock, but placements were not reported as of press time.
Lady Bruin varsity soccer topped Johansen on Tuesday by a 3-2 final, then lost to Lincoln, 5-1 on Friday. The tennis and softball games were canceled that day (Friday).
This week, Lady Bruin softball was to host Le Grand on Monday, March 14, weather and field conditions permitting, then go up against Modesto High ladies on Tuesday. Today, they’re traveling to Stagg High School in Stockton.
Lady Bruin soccer was set for a match on Tuesday, March 15 at Hilmar, then on Thursday, they’ll travel to Escalon for Trans-Valley League action.
Tennis is scheduled to host Escalon on Friday, March 18.
Track and Field goes to Calaveras High School on Thursday, March 17, for the Trans-Valley/Mother Lode League Challenge, then to Oakdale for the County Clash on Friday, or to the Bella Vista Distance Carnival in Fair Oaks.
Also on the upcoming schedule a little later in the month, Riverbank baseball players are scheduled to go to Hilmar on Tuesday, March 22, then turn around and host the Yellowjackets on Thursday, March 24.
Tennis is to host Ripon on Tuesday, March 22, then travel to Mountain House on Thursday.
The Bruin runners and jumpers will host the TVL Relays on the Riverbank track, also on Tuesday, March 22.
