Run For The Cheese Results Announced

In the recent Run for the Cheese, first to cross the finish line in the 5k race was 54-year-old Raymond Rodriguez, with the time of 17:59. The organizers of the Riverbank Run for the Cheese, held to kick off the 40th edition of the Cheese and Wine Exposition earlier this month, have released the results of their races that morning.

In the 5k race, the first male runner in was from the 50-59 year old category, 54-year-old Raymond Rodriguez, at 17:59, 17 minutes, 59 seconds.

The first female to finish in the 5k was Cecilia Carretero, in the 20-29 year old group.

For male runners, by age, Simon Appel was the winner in the 12 and under category; 13-19 winner was 18-year-old Daniel Torres; 20-29 winner was Victor Jimenez; 30-39 winner was Mike Thompson.

The 40-49 winner was Michael Dean; in 50-59, it was Rodriguez; 60-69 winner was Manuel Cabrera; in 70-79, it was Roman Salazar.

In the women’s 5k division, the 12 and under was won by Lorelei Scheele; 13-19 winner was Rhea Gandhi; 20-29 was Cecilia Carretero; and 30-39 was Nancy Eubanks.

In the 40-49 age group, Dalila Rodriguez was the winner; 50-59 was Shelia Menzez. In the 60-69 group, the winner was Christine Fitzpatrick and in the 70-79 age group, the winner was Barbara Miller.
