Last week was one of loosely organized scrimmages against other schools on the Riverbank High sports schedule, with tournaments kicking off this week.

Both boys and girls varsity basketball teams were to host Foundation Games on Monday night, Nov. 28, with the girls going first, then the boys, at Ray Fauria Memorial Gymnasium.

Today, the JV girls basketball team is to begin the three-day Escalon Tournament, opening up with Central Catholic in a game against scheduled for 5 p.m. The varsity girls team is to play in a three-day tournament at Edison High School in Stockton beginning tomorrow, going through Saturday, Dec. 3.

The freshman boys team is to play in the Modesto City Tournament, running today through Friday at Beyer High School.

Girls soccer games were set for yesterday, at home vs Bret Harte, and today, Nov. 30 hosting Modesto High School.

Boys soccer matches were at Bret Harte yesterday, and hosting Johansen High School tomorrow, Dec. 1.

Since all the contests this past week were just scrimmages, no official scores were kept. Game jerseys had also not been issued as some rosters were not completely set. Players were getting in some good work, looking ahead to roughly a month of preseason action before Trans-Valley League play begins.
