Soccer Squad Scores Big In Victory Over Hughson

The varsity Riverbank Bruins scored a big win on the soccer field this past week, as they bested the visiting Hughson Huskies, 6-0, on Thursday, Sept. 24.

Riverbank played strong, racking up four goals in each of the two periods.

While senior goalkeeper Rigo Garcia made five saves, four different Bruins found the net, with junior Angel Hernandez and senior Enrique Vallejo each scoring two. Adrian Benitez and Nathaniel Martinez scored one each.

The soccer team won’t play again until tomorrow, Oct 1, as they are set to travel to Ripon, then they’re scheduled to host Modesto Christian on Tuesday, Oct. 6.

In other action, volleyball took a league win and loss and the golf girls are gearing up for a busy week.

 

VOLLEYBALL

The Lady Bruin varsity team split a pair of matches over the last week, losing to Escalon at home on Monday, Sept. 21 by scores of 11-25; 6-25; 9-25.

At Mountain House on Tuesday, Sept. 22, Riverbank won in three games: 25-20; 25-13; 25-14.

The Lady Bruins were next scheduled to host the Lady Huskies of Hughson on Monday, Sept. 28 after The News went to press. They won’t have another game until the following Monday, Oct. 5, when they travel to Ripon.

 

GOLF

The Lady Bruin linksters were scheduled to play in the League’s Mid-Year Tournament at Micke Grove Golf Course in Stockton on Monday, Sept. 28 after The News went to press, then were to travel to Linden on Tuesday.

They’ll host Ripon Christian tomorrow, Oct. 1. on the home course in Escalon, then welcome in Hilmar on Tuesday, Oct. 6.
