StocktonCon Returns To Arena This Weekend

The two-day annual StocktonCon returns to the Stockton Arena this weekend. There will be something for everyone at StocktonCon from sci-fi freaks, comic and toy collectors, professional wrestling fans, pop culture fanatics and more. Local artists will be in attendance along with Hollywood stars and professional wrestling royalty.

Scheduled to appear at this year’s event is wrestling’s living icon Sting. He began his career in the late 1980s as a member of the tag team, The Bladerunners. Sting went on to have one of the most successful solo wrestling careers in World Championship Wrestling history. He went on to feud with legendary wrestlers including Ric Flair, Hulk Hogan, Randy Savage, Vader and Lex Luger. During his Hall of Fame career that spanned nearly three decades, Sting has held 14 world championships and 25 total championships. Sting will be appearing on Saturday, Aug. 18 only from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. (time subject to change). Meet and greet opportunities are available for Sting. A photo or autograph is priced at $50 or combo of both is available for $85.

Other professional wrestlers set to appear are Christian and James Ellsworth. Christian’s fame skyrocketed in the late 1990s when he was one third of the popular stable known as The Brood. He and his tag team partner Edge, went on to win the World Wrestling Entertainment Tag Team Championships several times and remain one of the most beloved tag teams in wrestling history. Christian also had a celebrated singles career where he won multiple championships. He will be available for meet and greet opportunities both days. Ellsworth is a quirky personality that had a big World Wrestling Entertainment run in 2016. The ultimate underdog who is best known for his motto “Anyone with two hands has a fighting chance” burst into main event status after years in the Independent Wrestling circuit. Today, Ellsworth is the manager of the World Wrestling Entertainment Women’s Champion Carmella.

Live wrestling action will be available for fans as well as Supreme Pro Wrestling, out of Sacramento will be performing outside of The Stockton Arena on Saturday.

Celebrities scheduled to appear include Rachael Leigh Cook, Tara Sands, Joanna Cassidy, Charles Fleischer, Josh Petersdorf and Michael Bell among others. JSA Autograph Authentication will also be on hand. StocktonCon is put on by Mike Millerick and is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day, Saturday, Aug. 18 and Sunday, Aug. 19.
