Summer Workout Sessions
slate1

Some Riverbank athletes have seen the spring seasons extended by competition at the AAU Championship here last week. At the same time, others, those interested in fall and winter sports, are already at work, with conditioning drills and scrimmages, getting in shape for the coming seasons.

A record turnout so far has encouraged RHS varsity volleyball coach Angela Cuellar that there may be enough girls out this year to field freshman, JV and varsity teams in the upcoming season. She said she had more than 30 girls working out in the evenings last week.

The prospective players are alternating between conditioning drills on some days with scrimmage play on others. There are league limits on just how much coaching is permitted prior to the official start of the season.

And RHS varsity boys basketball coach Jeff Jennings has been holding scrimmages, alternating between home and away, as the potential opponent list grows.
