Umpire Training

The City of Livingston will host its first Umpire Training Camp for ages 14 through adults, open to residents throughout the region. This camp will cover, rules, duties, positioning, mechanics, field work and more. Whether you are 14 or 40, if you are interested in earning a little extra money as an umpire this is the camp for you.

Pre-registration is required and class maximum is 40 students. The fee for this camp is $30. For more information contact the Recreation Department at (209)394-8830.

Instructor Raymond Freitas has nine years of sports officiating experience, covering youth baseball, high school baseball, adult baseball, travel softball. He has been the city’s baseball/softball umpire trainer for the past four years.

Camp will be held June 12, 14, 19 and 21 in the City Council Chambers, 633 Main St., Livingston, Each class will run from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Certifications of Completion will be given at the end of the camp.
