Youth Baseball, Softball Sets 2020 Diamond Schedules
RYSBA

Even though fall has just begun, it’s already time to be thinking about the boys (and girls) of summer here in Riverbank.

Early Registration

Parents and officials of the Riverbank Youth Baseball Softball Association will begin working on the 2020 season in just a couple of weeks, with the first registration day set for Friday, Oct. 18, at Castleberg Park, from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Parents will need to bring all documents and fees to register since partial payments are not being accepted. This first registration opportunity includes a $30 discount off the fee.

The fees vary on the age group the child plays in, from $90 to $100. There is a $100 deposit also required, per family, to offset volunteer time in the snack bar (per family).RYBSA officials say that all families are required to volunteer four hours in the park snack bar, regardless of how many players they might have. The money will be refunded once the four hours are met, they add.

There’ll be other early sign-ups, on Friday, Nov. 15, with $20 off, and again on Dec. 5, with $10 off, both at Castleberg Park, 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.

The final registration day will be Friday, Jan. 10, 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m., and Saturday, Jan. 11, 2020, noon to 3 p.m., both at the park, with the full fee required.

Evaluations And Draft

The next important date is Feb. 8, when evaluations, then player drafts, beginning at 11:45 a.m., and will occur all afternoon.

Opening Day and Picture Day will be on March 14, with teams lining up at the Community Center and marching to the park, if weather permits. Last year Opening Day got rained out.

There’s a Riverbank Night at the Modesto Nuts game on May 8 and Closing Ceremonies will be on May 16.
