Micke Grove, Oak Grove Parks List Easter Guidelines
parks

The weather’s getting nice, and Peter Cottontail may be gearing up for a visit, but Easter is going to look a bit different for Micke Grove and Oak Grove regional parks this year.

While both parks will be open from 7 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. (gates close at 7 p.m.), San Joaquin County Parks will limit entrance to 1,200 vehicles at Micke Grove and 350 vehicles at Oak Grove to allow for social distancing and adherence of current gathering guidelines. Parking will be $10 per vehicle (those over 22 ft. in length will be charged for two parking spaces). Parking tickets will not be accepted for park re-entry and no refunds will be issued. As usual, cash is the only form of payment at Oak Grove while cash and ATM/credit card are acceptable at Micke Grove (a second gate will be open during peak hours and will be cash only). Parking is only allowed in marked parking spaces, vehicles may not unload or park on the lawn. Masks will be required at all times for guests over the age of two years.

All outdoor picnic shelters, boat rentals and water features will remain closed due to COVID-19, and disc golf courses at both parks will be closed for the day (Fun Town and the San Joaquin County Historical Museum will remain closed at Micke Grove, while the Nature Center will remain shuttered at Oak Grove). Micke Grove Zoo will be open during normal operating hours (10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; $5 adults, $3 age 13 to three years), as will the Japanese Garden (9 a.m. to 1 p.m.). First-come, first-serve picnic tables will be available and first-come rules will apply (this includes no trailer BBQs, bounce houses, amplified sound, generators and water apparatuses). As with every visit, guests are required to clean up their areas, use trash receptacles and refrain from using materials such as confetti, glitter, etc.

Guests are required to adhere to all guidelines, violators will be asked to leave.

Guests are advised to remain home if sick or unwell and practice social distancing to prevent COVID-19. Park closures may be reinstituted if social distancing protocols are not followed. For more information, visit the website at www.sjparks.com or the Parks’ Facebook or Instagram accounts.
