Some portions of regional parks are slowly reopening for public use, while others remain shut down as clean-up efforts continue for damage caused by the multiple storm systems during January.

San Joaquin County’s Park Office and an 18-hole disc golf course are among the areas now open at Micke Grove Regional Park, it has been announced. Additionally, Dos Reis Regional Park and its campgrounds will remain closed through Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2023.

Guests are now able to enjoy Micke Grove’s north area (from the Camanche Shelter to San Joaquin Shelter). The park’s Japanese Garden and Stanislaus Shelter area remain closed indefinitely, and many other areas including Micke Grove Zoo are closed as debris removal continues following devastating storms earlier this month.

Oak Grove and Mossdale Crossing regional parks remain open while Westgate Landing Regional Park and campground, Stillman Magee Regional Park and campground and Woodbridge Wilderness Area remain closed. There is no estimated opening date at this time.

When visiting all area parks, guests are asked to exercise caution as storm debris, fallen tree limbs and standing water may still be present. Guests are advised not to enter any restricted areas, paths or roadways that shows signs of damage, nor any areas where work crews may be. Guests found violating these restrictions will be asked to leave the park.
