Riverbank High School baseball players Preston Davidson and Bryce Martin took the diamond for a final time this season over the weekend. The two Bruin outfielders were members of the Blue team in the 30th annual Rotary Club of Modesto Sunrise Stanislaus County High School All-Start Baseball Classic at Stanislaus State in Turlock. The nine-inning game saw the Blue team emerge victorious, 3-1, over the Gold team in the Saturday evening, June 8 competition.

Martin started the game in right field. Having just completed his junior year at RHS, he went 0-for-2 at the plate but was issued a walk in the seventh inning. Martin made the most of his opportunity as he stole second and third after getting on with the free pass, then came in to cross home plate on a passed ball to give the Blue team a 2-1 advantage.

Davidson entered the game in the later innings as a left fielder and went 0-for-2 at the plate. This would be the final high school game for the recent RHS graduate.

Players from Pitman, Beyer, Central Catholic, Davis, Ceres, Oakdale, Hughson and Modesto joined Riverbank in making up the Blue team.
