In 2007, the company was acquired by CBS Interactive. On April 2, 2025, it was announced that MaxPreps was acquired by PlayOn.

Also receiving recognition for achievements with RHS athletics for the 2024-25 season was varsity girls basketball coach Janelle Luu, honored through the Mother Lode League.

Maya Guzman

Riverbank softball played in the Mother Lode League this season, in the Sac-Joaquin Section, Division 5, of the California Interscholastic Federation.

On the mound, junior Guzman amassed 275 strikeouts, ranking eighth in the CIF, second in D5.

At the plate, she did even better, with a batting average of .553, ranked 11th in Division 5, second in the MLL, with 96 plate appearances.

She tallied 11 home runs, ranked first in the Division and MLL, in 28 games. She also rapped out 11 doubles and four triples. That resulted in 47 hits, and 41 stolen bases on the season, ranked first in both the SJS 5 and MLL, scoring 32 runs, third in the MLL, and 26 RBIs.

These remarkable stats for Guzman came in the same spring season in which she also competed in Track and Field for the Bruins

She regularly took part in the long jump and triple jump, setting new personal records several times during the season, including a school record in the triple jump.

On top of all that, she played goalie on the RHS varsity Lady Bruin soccer team in the winter, and played both flag football and ran cross country last fall.

She has said she plays the other sports to help strengthen her abilities in softball.

Janelle Luu

Varsity girls basketball head coach Janelle Luu – an RHS alum – was recognized as the Winter Sports Season Coach of the Year in the Mother Lode League last week.

Athletic Directors and Administrators of the Mother Lode League voted for Coach Luu following her team winning a third league championship in a row. The postseason included some action on the home court, in addition to a section championship appearance. The Lady Bruins finished second overall and had a NorCal home playoff game as well.
