Without any hesitation, the RiverOak Redskins are moving forward in the beginning stages of the 2008 season, preparing for each levels' upcoming preseason Jamboree scrimmage.

The Redskins have inserted the phase one portion of their offensive and defensive schemes, while still spending ample time on the proper tackling, blocking and passing techniques.

RiverOak will undoubtedly be tested week in and week out playing in one of the area's most challenging leagues. The Redskins have made their home in the Delta Youth Football League for several years and the squad has enjoyed some success.

RiverOak Jr. Novice head coach Chris Olson has his hands full with the program's newest football enthusiasts. Olson will provide leadership to the smallest version of the RiverOak Redskins, those just getting started in their football careers.

Things will kick off in a hurry for the Redskins as the novice squad will begin the season with a trip to Stockton for the 2008 Delta Youth Football Jamboree. The North Stockton Bengals will play host to the league's squads as they spend an entire afternoon Aug. 23 doing battle.

The following afternoon, Aug. 24, the junior varsity squad will be getting its first full dose of real contact when they travel west to Manteca for the JV jamboree. The Manteca Chargers will be hosting the event at the junior varsity level, pulling all the teams together for a scrimmage session that will interchange the Redskins' offense and defense against other squads' offense and defensive units.
