Riverbank High athletes were a little busier last week, making up a few games and matches that inclement weather from the week before interfered with. This week’s schedule is a little busy, as well, but next week is Spring Break, so no games are scheduled.

Lady Bruin Softball

Riverbank’s varsity girls fell to Linden,14-4, on Monday, April 7, then, 9-3, to Bret Harte. They fell again to Bret Harte, 9-4, on Friday last week.

Keeping up the hectic late regular season pace, they were scheduled to play at Summerville on April 15, then host them on the RHS softball field on April 16.

Bruin Co-Ed Tennis

RHS netters played four matches last week, with mixed results.

Coach Bruce Edwards reports that the team lost to Summerville twice last week, 5-4 both times. They beat Bret Harte 6-3, and were to play there again Monday this week.

They beat Linden, 7-2, on Thursday, April 10.

Edwards said that, as of last weekend, the Mother Lode League had three teams tied at number one, Bret Harte, Summerville and Riverbank.

In addition to Monday’s match in Angels Camp, they’ll be hosting Calaveras on Thursday, April 17.

Bruin Baseball

Riverbank boys lost two games to Bret Harte High School from Angels Camp on Tuesday last week, one a makeup game and the other regularly scheduled, 6-0 and 6-1, then again, 18-4, on Friday, April 11.

They were scheduled to play at Summerville in Tuolumne on April 15 and meet them again on Saturday.

Co-Ed Track & Field

Riverbank is set to host the Mother Lode League’s next meet, Cluster #3, at Angelo Novi Field.

Bruin Volleyball

The RHS netters fell to the host Escalon Cougars, 3-0, on Wednesday, April 9. The boys were scheduled to host Orestimba on Monday this week, then were to travel to Ripon on April 15 before wrapping up a busy week by hosting Hilmar on April 16, for Senior Night, their last home match.

Bruin Golf

Riverbank boys were to host Bret Harte at the Jack Tone Golf Course on April 15, then their scheduled has them on the road to play at Summerville on April 16 and at Calaveras on Thursday, April 17.
