After grabbing hold of its first win of the 2008 season, the Riverbank Lady Bruins' soccer team ran into a couple of stiff challengers as they fell in consecutive Trans-Valley League contests this week.

The Lady Bruins were unable to sustain an intense opening against the Hughson Huskies, falling to their TVL foe 7-1 on the Hughson High campus to start the week.

Riverbank knew coming in that it would take a complete team effort to get past the Huskies who are among the elite teams in the league. The Lady Bruins' following test did not go any easier, falling to the Ripon Indians 11-0.

Ripon - poised on the brink of another league title - came into the contest looking to put the Lady Bruins away quickly, scoring five goals in what seemed like a matter of seconds.

Riverbank did receive solid play from defenders Maribel Lopez and Stefani Araujo, but the Indians' quickness proved to be too tough of a challenge.
